The movie or television series needs to depict any Spanish historical era (Mayans, Aztecs, Olmecs, etc) covered in the course (Mexican American History). Make sure to check with me about the film before you begin.

NOTE: I’ve inserted a link below to the film “Apocalypto” which was recommended by the instructor as an appropriate film for this particular assignment. However, two film critiques are required so feel free to select a second film of your choice.

For film critiques write a 1-2-page essay answering the following questions:

1. Explain the plot of the film.
2. What historical era is being depicted?
3. Do the characters of the film represent real historical persons or fictional characters?
4. Are there any historical inaccuracies in the film?
5. What new insights about this period in history did you gain from this film?
