(2) Addams believed that social problems were due to a mismatch between culturally transmitted ethics and existing social structural conditions. In plain language, what does this mean? If such mismatches contribute to social problems, how might sociologists (in her vision of sociology) work to change such mismatches?
(3) The CWS sociologists argued that sociological inquiry should begin with and stay close to one’s immediate experiences. If you believe this as well, what would you study sociologically? How would you go about doing such research?
