Review these 5 types, then pick 2 types you’d like to add to your own confidence crew. Using strategies you’ve learned from the tips in the Webtext, explain how you will go about adding these professionals to your crew.

Then, respond to one or more of your peers by suggesting an approach they can use to add more professionals to their own crew. Review page 9.5 in the webtext for example strategies

2.Imagine you’re mentoring one of the people in the scenario below who is experiencing a stressful situation in the workplace. Explain how using one of Queen Latifah’s strategies (either reaching out to others or time management) can help the person you are mentoring rise above their stress.

Ashlee and James both work together in accounting and are each responsible for half of an extensive presentation. Ashlee tries to work on the presentation a little each day, while James tends to wait until the last minute to turn in his portions of the project. But, because they rely on each other for certain tasks, Ashlee is often forced to wait for James and then rush to complete her assignments.

Ashlee complains that James’ procrastination is causing her to worry about his work as well as her own and is giving her unnecessary stress. Likewise, James is stressed by Ashlee’s anger and constant hovering. Because of the conflict, James is missing more work, and you suspect it’s because he wants to avoid Ashlee.

How can you help either Ashlee or James rise above their stress using one of the two strategies?

Good morning,

The two types of people that I chose to add to my confidence crew would be the connector and the industry insider. I chose these two types of people because I’m currently lacking these two in my “crew”. I would love to know someone who has connections within the fashion industry and someone who has been in the industry for a long time, that can give me valuable advice on how I can get noticed and how I can make an impact. The fashion industry is very competitive, so knowing people like that would be priceless. I really feel like they would help me to realize my dream.

The perfect way to add these professionals to my crew would be to attend networking events, as well as connect to them through social media and the internet. I know that Linkedin and Facebook are great ways to do just that. Nowadays, it is so easy to meet new people through social media, and I love it.
