Part One (Read article and answer quesitons):
- How does the Exodus event both reflect Gods promises to Abraham and set up the giving of the Ten Commandments?
- Pick either the Covenant Code (Exodus 21-23) or the elements of Israelite religion (sacrifices, festivals, and the tabernacle). What does your chosen material say about the character of God? List the character trait(s) of God you see revealed in the text. For each trait, quote a Bible passage from your chosen material that illustrates this trait.
- Whose behavior is stranger to you? That of Moses or that of the Israelites? Why? How might a liberationist like Gilbert Lozano from Brazil explain their behavior? How might his perspective shape your analysis?
Part Two:
Construct and create a infographic that
- describes the legal material in the Torah (content, types, audience, purpose) with some examples
- connects the legal material o the covenant God made with Israel (You will have to define “covenant” as a biblical covenant is not an “agreement” as the word is used in our culture today.)
- notes how Christians still use “the law” today to assess their lives and guide their actions.
The audience you are to target with this infographic is a modern western audience with little knowledge of this material. You can use Word document or Power Point.
