Hello! I need help with answering 5 short answer questions regarding the criminal justice system (CJS). They do not need to formatted into any type of essay, you can simply write out the questions and type the answer underneath. Some questions maybe have an a.) b.) c). to them, please make sure to type those abbreviations when you are answering the questions. Here are the 5 questions:

1. List/discuss the components of the CJS and the role each play within the CJS. (1b).  Define probation and parole and list three differences.  (1c) Discuss/describe the ‘funnel effect’ of the CJS. (How does it work? Purpose? Effects?).
2. Discuss/describe the ‘Wedding Cake’ model of the CJS. (2b). Discuss the relationship between the prison rate and the parole population.  How does one impact the other? (Be specific and support your answer).
3. Identify and discuss the types of evaluations (video presentation) and the role each play in identifying what works in community corrections. (3b). You have been asked to evaluate a local substance abuse program that serves probationers. In a meeting with the director of the program you are asked the following questions: (a) How will you define recidivism? (b) How will you identify a comparison group? (c) How long of a follow-up period do you recommend? (d) Are there other outcome measures you would suggest including besides recidivism? (e) What are some of the program characteristics that can be included to assess the program itself? (Be clear, specific, and incorporate information from the textbook).
4. Cindy is 37 years old and has two children. She is a single mom and is looking for work. She had a job interview scheduled at 8:30 a.m. and did not have childcare. Cindy took her two young children with her to the interview and left them in the car. A police officer discovered the two children and Cindy was arrested for endangering her children. Cindy has two prior misdemeanor convictions for drug possession and a theft conviction. Q: If you were the judge, what would you do with Cindy at the pretrial release decision? Describe your decision and justify why you made that decision over other possible decisions. What factors did you use to come to your decision? (4b).  Discuss types, purposes. similarities, and differences between pretrial release and diversion. 
5. What is your opinion on our current bail system? Would you be in favor of incorporating a ‘bail risk assessment’ versus the current monetary bail system? (Be specific, support your answer). (5b).  List and discuss the philosophical orientations of punishment (video presentation/textbook).  (5c) What is ‘tourniquet sentencing’?  Give two examples.
